'Vocal Thoughts' assembles work that focuses on various forms of disquiet, bringing to the fore those exchanges that are largely left unspoken, or sometimes engaged with a closed mind. Blurring the line between public and private, internal dialogue and social interraction, this exhibition provides an opportunity to form a more intimate perspective in a world obsessed with positive thinking and public face. Accessing and appraising a diverse range of personal experiences and emotions - and occasionally countered with insight into the frameworks that have evolved to manage negative feelings and destructive beliefs including psychiatry and self-help programs - 'Vocal Thoughts' leaves little to the imagination.
