Sally Smart included in three USA exhibitions

Remix: Selections from the International Collage Center
Daum Museum of Contemporary Art,

Remix presents the work of over 100 artists drawn from the ICC's permanent lending and research collection alongside further loans from prominent artists. Following its presentation at the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition will travel to Katonah Museum of Art, Katonah, NY, June – October, 2013; Ewing Gallery of Art and Architecture, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, October – December, 2013; and Bates College Museum of Art, Lewiston, ME, January – March, 2014.

The exhibition features a variety of media including painting, sculpture, illustration, graphic design, printmaking, photography, and installation art. This diverse body of works represents many of the most significant directions in contemporary art as well as the unique vision of each artist-faculty member.

The Pedagogical Puppet: Projects by Sally Smart

As the Art and Art History, University of Connecticut’s 2012 Raymond and Beverly Sackler Artist-in-Residence, Sally Smart plans to produce a new body of work that will include her first exploration with time-based media and performance. While on campus, Smart will be taking advantage of the expertise of the University's world-renowned Puppetry Arts Program and Ballard Institute & Museum of Puppetry. Smart will also have use of the School of Fine Arts' newly outfitted Media Lab to do editing and high-speed film rendering.
