Phillip George in 'Connections' at NGA
16 October 2010 – 18 September 2011

Connections is an exhibition for children that explores the relationships between works of art across cultures, place and time.

Themes such as calligraphy, geometry, colour and the garden have been used to link works of art inspired by Islamic culture with others in the National Gallery’s collection.

Visitors are encouraged to make their own connections or use symbols on the wall labels and activity sheet to discover linked works.

An interactive space with a focus on geometry is included in the exhibition to assist children understand the beauty and variety of Islamic patterning.

Have fun finding the connections and learn about Islamic culture and its influence around the world.
